Meet Helen

I have been a fully qualified Beauty Therapist since 2007 and have been a specialist waxer since 2015.

I'm always expanding my knowledge and currently training to become an educator and assessor in waxing. Once I complete this course, I’ll be diving into even more training to keep myself up-to-date and in the know!

I was born and raised in Manchester and now live in Cheadle Heath with my partner, our two kids, and two cats. My wax room is a warm, clean, and relaxing space where you’ll receive a high-quality service with only the best products. With me, you get a top notch wax with with a more personal touch than a busy, high street wax company. You’re my sole focus when you're with me, and I’ll make sure you feel completely at ease and maybe even have a few laughs to take your mind off the waxing!

FAQ's

How long does my hair need to be for waxing?
At least a quarter of an inch (about a grain of rice) for the best results.

Does waxing hurt?
There’s some discomfort, but it’s quick and gets easier over time as the hair grows back finer.

How long will my wax last?
Smooth results typically last 3-4 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle.

Can I wax if I’m pregnant?
Yes! Waxing is safe during pregnancy, though your skin may be more sensitive.

What should I avoid after a wax?
Avoid hot baths, saunas, swimming, being intimate (intimate wax only) and tight clothing for 24-48 hours to prevent irritation.

Will my hair grow back thicker?
No! Regular waxing actually makes hair grow back finer and sparser over time.

Can I get waxed during my period?
Yes, but your skin may be more sensitive. Just wear a tampon or menstrual cup for intimate waxing.

Aftercare Advice

Waxing aftercare is essential to keep your skin smooth, irritation-free, and healthy. After a wax, your skin may be slightly sensitive, so following the right steps can help prevent redness, bumps, and ingrown hairs. Here are the key things to keep in mind:

Avoid heat for 24-48 hours – No hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, or sunbathing.
Wear loose clothing – Tight clothes can cause friction and irritation on freshly waxed skin.
No touching or scratching – Keep your hands off to avoid introducing bacteria and causing breakouts.
Exfoliate after 2-3 days – Gently exfoliate a few times a week to prevent ingrown hairs.
Moisturize daily – Hydrated skin helps hair grow back softer and reduces irritation.
Avoid swimming – Stay out of pools, hot tubs, and the sea for at least 24 hours to prevent infection.
No heavy workouts – Excessive sweating can irritate freshly waxed skin, so take it easy for a day or two.
Following these simple steps will help keep your skin looking and feeling its best between waxes!

I stock a range of essential waxing aftercare products that have been tried, tested, and loved by both me and my clients for years. These products are carefully chosen to soothe, protect, and maintain smooth skin after waxing, helping to prevent irritation, ingrown hairs, and dryness. Since I use them myself and recommend them daily, you can trust that they actually work! Whether you need a calming lotion, an exfoliating treatment, or an ingrown hair solution, I’ve got you covered with top-quality products to keep your skin feeling its best between waxes.
