Your hair needs to be a minimum of 5mm or the length of grain of rice. If you have shaved, you need to leave it a minimum of 4 weeks after you last picked up the razor or used hair removal cream. If you have waxed, a minimum of 3 weeks.
No! Stay away from the scissors or clippers! If trimming is needed, I will do it. Please don’t be embarrassed, it’s all part of the treatment preparation and the reality is, you may trim too short.
Consistency is key with waxing. I recommend you wax every 4-6 weeks for the best results. This allows the hair to grow to the right length for effective removal and helps you get into a good regrowth cycle which means, softer, sparser hair over time.
With any wax, you will undoubtedly experience some discomfort. Some parts are less sensitive than others and everyone's pain thresholds are different. The first time is the worst as your anxieties play a part, but with regular waxing the pain lessens as do your anxieties. Taking painkillers 30 minutes before your appointment help along with not taking notice of peoples embellished 'horror' stories of waxing!
If you continue to wax regularly, you’ll notice your hair regrowth is finer, softer, less pigmented and slower, allowing you to stay smoother for longer. You’ll be able to leave longer in between wax appointments. Ultimately, the hair may stop growing altogether.
1 wax pre-holiday can leave you feeling disappointed with the results, especially if you've been shaving long term (I'm usually disappointed too). I advise having 2-3 waxes before a holiday or big event so the wax will leave you smooth for the entire holiday. I'd recommend you have a wax 3-4 days prior to a holiday.
Hot wax is for sensitive skin and thicker hair and will most likely be used for an intimate wax, whilst strip wax is for less sensitive skin and thinner hair and will most likely be used for areas such as the legs and arms.
